Diet for building arm muscle mass?
Now first off, I'd like to say I have the body of an average Joe. Not too skinny arms, a slight beer gut, nothing special.
For the last few weeks I've been playing a lot of sports outdoors and doing a lot of running. But I would now like to devote some exercise to building up tricep muscles.
I'm not a body building fanatic wannabe, I don't want to calculate how much percent of this or that to eat for the 'perfect body', I just want to get bigger arms at least by a little bit. I'm not looking to get crazy and technical with it.
What are the average typical foods I should eat? What about snacks? Will snacking on fruits detract from anything?
I always hear these muscleheads talk about protein and fiber and carbs. Should one drink a protein shake after working out to gain more arm muscle mass?
I'd be really appreciative if I could just get some simple answers on protein shakes, types of food to eat for meals and mainly snacks. Thanks
The person before me gave such a shocking answer. Eating the correct foods are just as important as training. Eating a higher protein diet is essential, but equally as essential are the other parts in your diet. Things I would recommend are
Carbs
Oatmeal
Wheat pasta
Brown rice
Wheat bread
Beans
Protein
Chicken
Turkey
Tuna
Lean cuts of beef
Egg Whites
skim milk
cottage cheese
Protein shakes should only be taken over and above your normal eating habits.
